Report of Women cell activities (August 23 to 25, 2018)
Three days Raksha Bandhan celebration under the campaign “Ek aur sudhar” was conducted from August 23 to 25,2018 by the Women cell GC Bahadurgarh. Following activities were conducted:
23rd August: Lamp lighting by Mr. K C Sangwan , Mrs. Poonam Kashyap and the guest speaker of the day Dr. RoshanLal.
Lectures on “Gender Sensitization” by Dr. Roshan Lal, Associate Professor, GC Sampla was delivered.
Slogan writing competition on Women safety and empowerment was conducted in which students participated enthusiastically. Ist, IInd and IIIrd prizes were given to the judged slogans respectively.
Bindas Bol –Open forum on gender sensitization and group discussions were held in which students and the faculty members participated actively. The participants expressed their views on Gender Violence, Dignity and safety of women and role of women in national development.
24th August: The expert speaker of the day was Dr. Asha Sharma, Principal , Vaish Shikshan Kanya Mahavidalaya. She delivered lectures on women empowerment to an enthusiastic gathering of students and teachers.
The pledge for women safety as provided in the DHE letter no. 1/23-2018 Co(2) was taken by all the teachers and students.
Signature campaign was conducted in which all the participants and teachers signed the pledge which was displayed in the front wall of college.
Sankalp sutra bandhan was carried out enthusiastically by tying rakhis by one and all on a tree in the front lawn of the college.
25th August: An initiation of self defence activity was done by registering the students for self defence classes for Swayam Siddha. The faculty members guided students regarding the importance of self defence by various means and by making girl students aware of the techniques and products related to swayam siddha like pepper spray. The purchase and distribution of pepper spray is in the pipeline.
The celebration was concluded with a rally which was conducted in support of women empowerment and safety by the students and faculty members in the nearby locality of college.
