INSTITUTIONAL DEVELOPMENT PLAN (IDP) (2024-2029)

The Government College Bahadurgarh was established in 1967, since than it stands out in its commitment to excellence, embracing challenges to align itself with the finest educational institutions. A pivotal focus on holistic student development underscores its mission, synchronizing academic and co-curricular calendars ingeniously. This approach aims to extract the best from each student, fostering an environment where extracurricular activities become a platform to showcase their humane side. At the core of the college's priorities is a student- centred approach, encouraging unconventional thinking and nurturing dreams into reality. The institution plays a crucial role in instilling moral values, fostering sensitivity, and promoting awareness of moral duties within society. Various programs, strategically organized, contribute significantly to the physical and mental growth of students. The Government College Bahadurgarh Institutional Development Plan (IDP) have been prepared to upgrade college infrastructure facilities in upcoming academic session that will bring them at par with the best institutions of the country.  The college IDP contains following parameters for next five years:

A. Physical Infrastructure and Digital infrastructure

Objective: Upgrade college facilities to meet modern educational needs.

• New Building: The college requires new buildings for Arts Block, Administrative Block, Seminar/Conference Hall and Canteen.

• Laboratory and Library Upgrades: Procure new equipment and resources to facilitate better learning outcomes. Improve library resources, focusing on digital access to journals and research materials.

• ICT and Smart Classrooms: Expand digital infrastructure, introduce e-learning platforms, and upgrade the IT network for better connectivity and online education.

• Implement renewable energy sources: For eco-friendly environment saving electrical energy there is proposal to install solar panels on college roof tops.  

• Create green spaces by developing botanical gardens. The beautification of the college campus is also on the agenda, with a proposal to plant various types of flowers.

B. Academic Development Plan

Objective: Improve academic offerings and align them with industry demands.

• New PG Course: The college administration has proactively submitted a proposal to higher authorities for the introduction of a Post-Graduation course in Computer Science. This initiative aims to broaden the academic offerings, providing students with advanced education the technological aspects of Computer Science.

• Curriculum Enhancement: Introducing new courses and programs as per NEP 2020 guidelines that will base on regularly updating curricula to include contemporary topics and skills.

• Research and Innovation: Encourage faculty and student research by providing necessary resources and creating partnerships with research institutions. Establish research cells in key departments and encourage faculty and students to publish papers.

C. Faculty and Staff Development

Objective: Ensure teaching quality by investing in faculty training.

• Professional Development: Organizing workshops, seminars, and conferences to upgrade faculty skills and knowledge.

Encouraging faculty to participate in national and international conferences.

• Research Grants: Requires financial support from Department and UGC for research and academic publications.

D. Student Development and Support

Objective: Foster student growth beyond academics.

• Career Counselling and Placement Cell: Upgrade college placement cell for job placement support, internships, and skill-building workshops.

• Counselling and Mental Health Support: Provide mental health support through regular counselling sessions, mentoring, stress-relieving sessions, workshops on stress management, and awareness campaigns on mental well-being and also offering yoga and fitness awareness classes

• Remediation Classes: Creating remedial classes tailored to students with slower learning paces to address their unique needs and enhance their confidence and performance.

• Skill Development Programs: Introducing short-term certificate courses or skill-based training programs as per NEP 2020 guidelines.

• Support student clubs, societies, and sports teams, promoting leadership and team-building skills.

E. Governance and Administration

Objective: Digitize administrative and learning processes.

• Grievance Redressal Systems: Strengthening mechanisms to handle grievances of students and staff.

• Digital Administration: Implementing e-governance tools for efficient administrative processes. Providing technical training to faculty and students on digital tools.

F. Financial Planning

Objective: Ensure sustainable funding for college activities and growth.

• Resource Mobilization: Exploring grants, government aid, and private sponsorship for research infrastructure and academic growth.

• Budget Allocation: Ensuring proper budgetary allocation for various projects.

• Establish an alumni fund to support scholarships and development initiatives.

G. Quality Assurance

Objective: to enhance academic excellence for holistic growth.

• Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC): Strengthening the IQAC to ensure the implementation of quality enhancement measures.

• Periodic Review: Regularly reviewing the institutional performance against the IDP goals.

• Accreditation: Ensuring compliance with state and national accreditation bodies.

H.  Monitoring and Evaluation

Objective: Track and evaluate progress to ensure successful implementation of IDP programs for next five academic sessions.

• Performance Metrics: Defining key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the progress of various initiatives.

• Annual Reports: Preparing annual reports to assess and document progress.

• Feedback Mechanism: Developing mechanisms for students to express feedback on support services and the overall institutional experience. Besides students collecting feedback from parents by organising PTM will also helpful in implementing IDP.

By implementing this Institutional Development Plan (IDP) into practice, the Government College Bahadurgarh ensures the all-round development of its students. Students will got strengthen from this program with the values, abilities, and information needed for both individual achievement and significant contributions to the country and society.
